In the US we are facing a monumental decision. Voting is important, and this year it is incredibly important. So, knit yourself or a friend gloves to indicate your political fave. If you are undecided, knit a red one and a blue one! Grab a ballot with your mitts on and VOTE! Let your mitts do the talking on election day!

These mitts are easy to knit, quick, and use less than the standard 200 or so yards in a skein of worsted weight yarn for a pair. Needles needed for this pattern are US 7/4.5mm double pointed needles. This pattern is a great way to use up scraps also, if you like striped or colorblocked mitts, go for it! I have included the yarn used for the red and the Frozen-ish fluffy and sequined white mitts in the photos.

Since the entire mitt consists of two easy rib patterns, you will have these done in no time. There are no stitches to pick up and no seams to sew. They are worked in the round. They hug the hand comfortably and will fit a large range of ages. From about 9 years old to adult. For a smaller mitt, use dk weight yarn and size US 5/3.5mm dpns. For larger mitts, say for a large man, use a heavy worsted weight and size US 9/5.5mm needles.

Now, grab your voting mitts and go do your civic duty!!
