May 10, 2010: correction: in the pattern Notes, it should read “ Repeat these eight rows for pattern.”

This comfortable wrap is a new take on the classic Wager Welt stitch: how many rows are purled in a pattern repeat? Just one!

Worked in a luscious fiber with a beautiful drape from bottom up, the body of the wrap is shaped with a few rows of subtle decreases so it sits nicely around the shoulders. The front closes with a clever loop and tail which stay in place without bulk. The tail and loop are picked up and worked in ribbing.

The finished length is approximately 37.5” inches without the tail and loop; the loop measures 12” long, and the wrap is 14.5” from bottom to top.
