Very feminine - yet not too girlish - light mitts to be worn in spring or autumn to provide some extra warmth and comfy. The twisted stitches for the small cables are key.

Yarn:

For this pattern I‘d recommend a not-too-dark solid-coloured yarn with a crisp, plied structure. Highly variegated or „fuzzy“ yarns won‘t show off the pattern and cables very well.

Trivia:

At the time of knitting these, I was just studying old Styrian cable patterns I found at an Austrian museum which inspired me to make these mitts. The pattern itself however reminds me of these old vintage ceramic tiles that have this typical 70s flowery motif on it. That’s how they actually got their name though…
