You may choose to use a variegated yarn with a solid contrasting color. Self-striping and ombre yarns paired with a solid contrasting color are perfect to use with this pattern.

The back of mosaic patterns will be striped giving you a reversible design.

Stitches Used - US Terms:
Ch - Chain
SC - Single Crochet
BLSC - Back Loop Single Crochet
FLDC - Front Loop Double Crochet 2 Rows Down

Skill Level:
Beginner - As long as you know the basics of crocheting (stitches listed above), you will be able to do this project. Mosaic crochet looks a lot more complex than it really is. This is a great pattern to try if you’ve never done mosaic overlay crochet.

I have had several people that were brand new to mosaic crochet try my patterns and each one was able to follow the instructions and were successful in their projects.
