The morning of the Winter Solstice dawned clear and cold. As Lotta climbed down from her cosy loft bedroom, she was greeted by the sight of the beautiful frost patterns that had formed on her windows overnight.

Stig wagged his tail, happy to see Lotta, knowing that his breakfast would soon follow. He was eager to get out into the forest for his walk this morning, feeling the pull of this special place.

The air was wonderfully crisp and new as they wandered along the frozen paths, with bird song surrounding them.

As they reached the lake, the sun had emerged from the clouds and was glinting off the water. They were both captivated by this place, and completely absorbed in all that nature had to give, on this most magical of days.

The Winter Solstice socks are a design based on the pretty frost patterns that Lotta saw on her windows that morning.

Sock Details

The socks are worked top down, and are knitted using the much loved heel flap and gusset construction. They also feature my Umbrella Toe. They are knitted using the magic loop method, but other methods can be used.

Small (56 sts), Medium (64 sts) and Large (72 sts).

The Winter Collection
