This pattern includes versions for fingering, sport and worsted weight yarns. Two beading options are also provided.

Each year, a few days before Memorial Day, my dear friends and I travel to Door County,WI, to relax, reconnect with each other, and explore the fantastic work of area artisans. It’s one of our favorite times of year. We always bring our own projects, too. This time, Jeneen was knitting a wrap out of many colors of Berroco Seduce, and worked on it throughout the trip. It was a “stash buster” idea to knit up the remaining Berroco Seduce colors she had from previous projects. This classic pattern is perfect for vacation knitting and wearing. Toss it over your shoulders or wrap it as a scarf. Give it a try and you’ll be Wrapped in Door County, too!

Using approximately 400 yards of yarn, this is versatile pattern is appropriate for many different weights. Samples have been knit in a range of weights, from fingering-light worsted.

We started with Light Worsted Berroco Seduce. This is the multi-colored version pictured. It is approximately 108” long x 20” at the deepest part of the center. Gauge is 6 stitches per inch.

Size 7 circular needles in a 24 or 32 inch length.

The sample was knit with many colors of Seduce, remaining from previous projects. The yarn sections were knotted with the magic knot and wound into two balls before knitting. Fray Check fabric glue was also used to secure the knots, and then the ends were clipped.

Create your own color blends or knit the wrap in one color, tonal or variegated yarn. This is a versatile pattern and many types of yarn may be substituted.

Optional: Approximately 40 grams (500 beads) of TOHO seed beads, size 6/0. Quality beads must be used for knitting. TOHO beads are uniform and smooth. Dental floss threader for bead stringing.
Beads are pre strung with a dental floss threader. 20 grams of TOHO seed beads in size 6/0.

I prefer to use a fleece mat on a flat table surface. Fleece fabric may be purchased at any fabric store and cut a small square to use for beading.

The wrap will vary in length and depth, depending on yarn and needle choices. Optional bead placement instructions are written in the pattern.

I knit the pink and green version pictured with size 6 needles and Arucania, Ruca, a dk weight, viscose yarn made from sugar cane. Pattern #2 has been added to the original. The wrap is approximately 102” long x 15” deep. Gauge is approximately 5 stitches per inch.

Thank you for your purchase! We hope you enjoy this versatile design and knit several in many different weights of yarn!
