Knitting a sleeveless version with both front and back per directions for back to make a higher crew neck.
I skipped swatching but I decided to soak and dry the top before continuing past my 3rd pattern repeat, and I’m glad I did! It went from wider than it was long to longer than it was wide. Perfect! Time to split for arm holes.
6.5.11 Finished this (all except for the neckline) on the drive up to Maine for our early 2nd anniversary / honeymoon revisited Angelique windjammer cruise out of Camden. When I got to the neckline I decided to omit all the decrease instructions and just knit it the same way as the hemline is done, with enough stitches picked up to make the pattern turn out since I didn’t have to worry about neckline shaping for the V neck. On the front, the neckline cable is centered on the center body cable, but somehow it’s a little offset on the back. (That’s the only distinction between the sides!) Love it, can’t wait to wear it allllll the time.
Oh, and I ended up just knitting the arm holes per the pattern directions so I didn’t have to get into partial pattern repeats, and slipped the first stitch of every row to make it more finished.
