CO 44, follow cuff and teeth as written until picking up provisional cast on. Modifications: pick up provisional cast on stitches and knit one round, then begin the ankle lace, skipping the ribbing. Knit as written from that point forward.

Knit foot until it measures 5 1/2 inches, then begin toe (as toe should take 1 inch. 15 repeats from cuff to toe.

Niece’s feet are 6 inches long, so I’m making the socks 6 1/2 inches long in the hopes that they’ll fit for a while!!!
