As the yarn can’t be blocked I added about 40 rows to the body to correct gauge problem.

➔ I found something weird in the pattern’s border stitch counts, and as the designer didn’t answer my question I decided to modify the border.

Mods to the border:
. PUK along WS knitwise (bumps on RS)
. CO 15 st instead of 12
. Attached the border at last of these 15 st and 1st of the PU st
. Replaced K2TogTBL by: Slip 1 as if to knit, Slip 1 as if to purl, K those 2 st Tog TBL
. Knit 4 rows for border set up
. Knit a total of 12 rows for step 1 and step 3 and 14 rows for step 2 (24 holes for my stitch count)
. Passed the corner with 1 more row on step 3 without attaching the last st
. Knit 4 rows to finish the border
( 24 x 12 ) + 8= 296 = 150 + 146

Final measurements: 180 cm x 40 cm
