Notes

I switched yarns and started over in late July 2010. I found a much more appropriate shade of red (I’ll update the yarn when I find the ball band), and I’ll reuse the Alpaca with a Twist Fino for another Wings of Horus shawl in the future.

7-28-10 - I’m 32 rows in on the second go-round, and I’ll probably reach the ring lace before the day is out. Hopefully I won’t botch it again!

8-6-10 - Each line of rings is 4 rows high, and I consistently have trouble on the third row. It’s not enough to deter me, but I have to be extra careful on that row. Other than that, the ring lace is coming along nicely. I’m only about 3 or so rows away from the first claw of the dragon now. I can’t work on it too long at a time, though, since the chart is making my eyes hurt a little. I’m limiting my time to 15-20 minutes at a stretch now, and making sure to mark off the chart in 10-stitch intervals.

Biggest help so far: I’m using stitch markers to mark the end of each page of the chart. This way, I know much sooner if I have to go back and fix something.
