I am attempting to make this a double sided cable scarf, using a variation found in the comment section of the pattern.
CO 18
Row 1: K1, P1 across
Row 2: S1, P1, ٭K1, P1 across
Row 3: Slip 6 stitches onto a cable needle, and hold in front. K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, Work sts on cable needle (S1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1). K1, P1 to end
Rows 4-8: repeat row 2
Row 9: S1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1. Slip 6 stitches onto a cable needle and hold in back. K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1. Work sts on cable needle (K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1).
Rows 10-14: Repeat Row 2
Go back to Row 3.
Repeat until you reach your desired length, ending two rows after your last cable row. Bind off, weave in ends, and add your choice of decoration to the ends if desired. I will be adding tassles to mine. Block if desired.
This worked out very well, and I am going to try another one with 12 sts instead of 18. Pictures to come very soon.
Photo up! Now all I have to do is block it. Since the needles are freed up, I’ll also cast on for a narrower version and see how that looks.
Narrower scarf:
