Endnotes: My advice - buy more yardage than suggested in the pattern. Especially if you are not using the specified yarn. This was fun to knit, easy and fairly fast. I have to say that I really wish I had paid more attention to those knitters who mentioned running short of yarn in their project notes (and there were several). I now join that group. For my project (and please note that I was using a different yarn but I was on gauge and had the yardages called for in the pattern on Page 2) I came up about 1/3 short on the MC and CC2 - I probably would have also run out of CC1 but I happened to have a few partial skeins of that color already in my stash. In the end, I made adjustments to the pattern and came up with a solution that I think looks okay and made it possible to finish the project with the yarn I had. However, if you’re thinking of starting this project I would strongly suggest the following yardages to be sure that you can complete the pattern as written:
MC = at least 375 yds (rather than the appx. 250 called for in the pattern)
CC1 = at least 260 yds (rather than the appx. 150 called for in the pattern)
CC2 = at least 375 yds (rather than the appx. 250 called for in the pattern).
Had I not been stressed about trying to figure out how to make the project work with the yarn I had, it would have been a more fun and relaxing knit. That said, I’m happy with the finished shawl and I’m looking forward to wearing it with my new yellow sandals and my grey and white summer dress :).

This is an easy pattern and the lace is pretty. I’m working at weaving in the ends as I finish each ‘section’ so that I won’t have to do it all at the end when I’ll be anxious to wear it. Drops “Paris” is a very ordinary but nice yarn to work with. Can’t beat the price!

Ran completely out of my MC after I finished the second group of stripes in Section 3…still have a fair amount of grey and white so I’m working out a new stripe pattern with what I have left.
