I had a few balls of Erika’s lovely Vintage yarn in my stash, and decided on this chunky hat pattern to use some of it up! It lends itself really well to the cable pattern, and is so snug and warm it will keep my head quite cosy throughout the winter!

This pattern was made by accident when I was knitting a swatch and then realised I’d been doing it totally wrong! I really love how it turned out though. The stitches are made up from slipped sts and small cables, which create this lovely wiggly textured effect.

I’m so loving pompoms at the moment too!
