Decided to (finally) pull this off my queue for The Loopy Ewe’s 2012 Fourth Quarter Challenge.
The charts were easy to read, and the pattern repeats are short enough to be memorized. I could’ve finished it in much less time had A) my first attempt not been ripped out by a too-curious-for-her-own-good three year old, and B) I wasn’t stuck in an annoying thumb brace for most of it.
This was my first time using Prism’s Lace Wool, and while it’s great to work it, it is fine. I held it doubled, and it was still as fine as most other laceweights I’ve used. The shawl ended up much smaller than I would’ve liked. Unfortunately it didn’t really hold to its block shaped very well, either. After a couple of days, it shrank back by probably a third of its blocked measurements. It’s still big enough to use as a wrap, though.
