Easy little hat for my nephew Sawyer. It looks like it might be a bit too large for him at this point (he’s still an infant).

The rounds do feel like they take forever. Round and round of single crochet.

All finished. Maybe it was because I crochet tightly, but I felt the brim was too small. I added an additional three rounds and I think it looks better. Due to the brim rolling too much, I blocked it and that seemed to help.

The directions say to sew the band to the hat, but I decided to make three bands total--orange, blue and ecru. This way the colours are interchangeable, depending on what outfit my nephew is wearing. The bands seem like they’ll stay put without being sewn on.

There is one negative aspect of the hat. The brim isn’t circular, but obviously hexagonal.

I think the hat is too big for a newborn. It’s more toddler sized.
