Our church is situated right across the street from a major university. We have lots of programs for the students and English classes for the international students and their families. Many of the students come from warmer parts of the US or warm countries around the globe so they don’t know what to expect of Iowa winters and are often caught without proper clothing when a cold spell hits. Our church staff hands out hats, scarves and mittens made by members to whoever needs them.
