Twin knitting on 9” circs. Provisionally cast on 32 sts with a FLK heel. According to my little chart, I should knit 9.1” (10.8 total length less 1.7 for the FLK) before I start the heel. Toes done!

Heels are done! I’m really torn about leg length. I kind of want to just knit to the ends of the skeins but I also just want them finished. And calf shaping… Gah, I don’t know!

I did 12 rounds after the heel and decided to go for some calf shaping! Here’s what my Knitting Toolkit spit out for my gauge:

Increase 1 stitch at the beginning and end of every 2 rows, 3 times.

Increase 1 stitch at the beginning and end of every 3 rows, 24 times.

Fingers crossed!

Completed the first increase section and 10x of the second, using twin stitches. It’s a little too much but I think I can knit even for a bit (rounds 38-xx) followed by a twisted rib cuff (15 rounds) and be pretty happy. Next pair, I’ll increase more slowly (every 4 rounds) and I need to add couple increases an inch before the heel for a mini gusset.

*Later* I just can’t. Ripping back to the beginning of the calf increases and starting again. I CAN deal with the lack of gusset. ;) But I think I’ll use a 2.5mm next time.

Much happier with the fit of the leg! Maybe I don’t need to go up a needle size? But I definitely need to move an increase round or two onto the instep before the heel.

Starting round 61, I increased twice every 12 rows (this seems like the optimal rate for my leg shape) 6x. Finished the ball at 126 rounds for the leg.

Finished the first sock with 12 rounds of twisted 1x1 rib. This has been my in-the-car project and so has not seen as much love. But I am still pretty happy with it!

Fucking FINALLY. I took forever with these since I left them in the car as my travel project for so long. I am pretty pleased with how they came out, though I think the foot is a little too long and the arch a little short.
