Notes

This cowl has been inspired by the mountain home of sheep grazing on the Brecon Beacons. The central column is of Japanese Feather stitch to represent the stream and the outside columns are ladder stitch to represent the long grass that they graze in.

I’m wondering if I should change the name to ‘Dancing Through Mountain Streams’… I’ll think about it as I’m going along…

This yarn must be nice! The cats yarnbombed the house with it last night! They only do that with the good stuff!’

Tension

So one pattern repeat is 17cm wide and 9cm high. So 10 stitches per 4cm and 12 rows per 4cm.

It weighs 11g so uses 38.5m. So I’ll probably get 9 pattern repeats out of the ball. So the cowl will be 81cm long.

I decided to do 8 pattern repeats instead so it’s only 72cms long. I have enough left to make a pair of fingerless mitts to match but I think I’ll leave that until I’ve finished RiverSystem’s Zigzagular Socks!
