I got a wonderful new book at Christmas time called Selbu Mittens by Anne Bårdsgård. This is the first time I’ve knitted anything from it and selected a chart from page 94. I’ve knitted in my usual way with an afterthought thumb and a peerie pattern from my head on the palm.
It is odd I had cast these on the same night I heard about the Queen’s Fair Isle Norwegian Star gloves! I think hers have a grey background with blues and white but not 100% sure!
Anyway I’m half way there and have the cuff on the wires for another glove.
It continues to be wintry here in Shetland with storm force wind forecast tonight and snow tomorrow. Not very Spring like weather. The lambs are coming now on the farm, my husband lambed a beautiful set of pure North Country Cheviot twins - gimmer lambs - the other night. He was away for ages and came home pleased with himself as Bobby had asked for his help when he was away feeding the sheep outside on farms.
