I couldn’t love this little sweater more! This is the second one I’ve made and I’m sure it’s not the last. It’s a well-written pattern with charming details, including the all-important pockets. Practical and wearable, with the daisy chain trim to lend a sweetly girly touch without getting frilly.

Yarn held double throughout, which is the equivalent of light worsted weight. At this gauge it’s dense and warm without being stiff.

Modifications:

Six buttons instead of three. Vintage buttons from my stash! The top button is too high to be useful. Must remember to omit it next time.

Incorporated the amazing double cuffs from Åsa Tricosa’s Baby Ziggurat. This time I made them six inches long and started three inches before the end, which allows them to be folded completely out of the way right now and to be unfolded for extra length as she grows. I decreased stitch count by a third after about 1.5 inches.

Omitted the I-cord loop on the hood and instead sewed on a fat little tassel with a braided cord. I really really love that tassel.
