The theme for WWMM15 is “Wish you were here.” My “wish you were here” spot is only a few minutes away, on the shore of Lake Ontario. I drew my inspiration from a photo I took on a soft summer morning, when a slight haze merged water and sky into a single shimmering sheet. I chose Himmelblau as my main color for its soulful sky-in-the-water blue, paired with creamy cloud-colored Natur. The silvery buttons have a woodgrain pattern, like bleached driftwood. The slightly fuzzy Blend echoes the indistinct edges of this dreaming moment by the lake. I wish you were here to dream it with me.

Note to self: If making this again, make sure to do the hems with needle that gives noticeably tighter gauge. I went down three needle sizes, but it would have looked better if I had gone down one more size.
