Notes

I had my own little Knit Camp these past couple of weeks while frantically calculating (and recalculating and re-re-calculating) and knitting this sweater. I made this one up from start to finish, using EZ’s percentage system to craft myself a round yoke steeked cardigan and the Marius chart as a jumping-off point for the colorwork. I’d never done this before; it was a knitting adventure for me! I was so absorbed in the process and so eager to see the outcome that I hardly left the house. In fact, I hardly left my breezy front porch as these last golden days of summer-camp weather slipped by. The colors in the sweater reinforce that camp feel, with the deep emerald of evergreens parting to reveal the turquoise purity of a late-summer sky, all of it splashed with flowers in shades of pink and red. I was simultaneously immersed in the process and drenched in nostalgia. I wish you were here at camp with me.

Swatch Gauge: 22 sts/26 rows = four inches in stranded colorwork in the round. US4 needles (Washed/blocked swatch.)

Garment Gauge:
plain stockinette: 20.5 st/30 rows=4” US4 needles
stranded: 23.5 st/26 rows=4” US4 needles
(washed/blocked garment that is a little stretched lengthwise from hanging on the back of a chair)

note to self: dominant color in left hand.
