Picked up the bottom sts and hand knit a 2x2 rib for ~6-7 rows with 2.75mm needles but binding off w them was too tight so bound off again w 3.75mm needles. Fits fine but is a little snug to get on--would have been better to spend the time doing “Elizabeth Zimmerman’s sewn bind off.”

6 rows Machine knit hand manipulated ribbing took 25 minutes. After the stockinette. Binding off took 20 with some slipped sts. Prob faster to rib first then stockinette then thread last row w needle for grafting.
