Given how much I loathed making this the last time (though I totally acknowledge what a great scarf it is and the pattern is excellent), I’m somehow making another 5 minutes later?!

This is simply a totally wearable, cool, chic, multifunctional item that begs to be made in many colours to suit one’s mood. This version’s being knit in hot pink.

You can make an XS (or S - stopping at 260 st aka 4 rows fewer than the size calls for)with 1 skein of Cascade Heritage sock yarn - which is a great workhorse that comes in tons of colours, with good drape and a nice hand. Also wash and dryable. It costs 17 bucks in Canada. You can make one of these for everyone and still not break the bank. That is, if you can bear the tedium of the lace work.

About half way through the navy version, the pattern made itself knowable and I can now read it to see if errors are afoot (and stop them before they become a problem).

I can’t say I’d recommend this for knitting enjoyment, but you can’t beat the end result for all the reasons.

Having made this the second time, I can say that it’s much more pleasant once you get the gist of the pattern. But it’s still hard on the hands with the constant YO/K2Tog.

I’ll probably make this again someday - as a gift for someone else or in another colour for me, if I give my first one (navy) away…

So I’ve given both of these (navy and this pink one) to my mum cuz she loved them both. So I’m gonna have to make one for me now slightly_smiling_face
