Entry for the Ontario Handspinning Seminar.

First try at knitting the hat seems too big and I’m afraid I will run out of yarn.Time to do some math, rip and reknit.

Ripped it out and started over. I did the ribbing in pink instead. That solved my concerns over yarn shortage.

Finished it tonight. I can’t wait to take photos in the morning!

I added six plain green rows after the chart to give my beanie a bit of slouch. Then I put a crochet flower at the top instead of a pompom. It was a bit tricky to sew down because of the gathers at the crown. I sewed in a temporary guide thread, and as my zinnia had 24 petals, I sewed every third petal to a decrease column. That was my third attempt and it centered the flower beautifully.
