Got the dice I bought and set up my characters.
Then I decided my yarns. I love to knit on 3.5 mm needles, so I chose 6ply sock yarn - have a lot of the grey yarn and about 900 m of the green yarn, I hope this will be sufficient :)!
And I’ll try double-knitting, didn’t do it for some decades :)!

GREAT FUN!!!!! I’m really excited! Never done anything like that before!

Thank you for the Baby Dragons charts!!!!!
Spent the days swatching and learning DK - and made all kinds of mistakes on my swatch :)!
Now I hope to be fit for the challenge!

Also played with Avatar programs and made one for me - and chose a Google photo for my cat compagnion :).

Finally started!
Did the first 6-row chart, then had to leave for a visit. This is so much fun!

03.01.2017: Chapter 1 finished!

That was thrilling and a brilliant idea of the designer to make the Mystery KAL into an RPG!!!
The dice decide which chart comes next, and every throw of the die is thrilling!

It’s also thrilling for me to learn Double Knitting as a new technique. I still have to concentrate very hard in the technique, and so it is very slow knitting, making and fixing all kinds of mistakes.
Why I already finished the charts of chapter 1?
I just couldn’t stop :) - knitted lots of hours yesterday and today :)!

What I already learned:

• how to un-knit rows and rows and rows because I mixed up the colors
• how to fix minor mistakes during the next row
• how to count to 5 (sometimes in the 3rd try …)
• how to close the edges without a gap
• my very personal way of holding the 2 yarns so that the tension works out fine
• how to be patient and knit very slowly instead of hurrying and making mistakes and having to un-knit

Now I’m eagerly waiting for next Sunday and chapter 2 (of 8) - how will the story evolve, and how will my shawl evolve?

Suddenly it was 2 a.m. - and I had finished chapter 2 :)!

Love the scarf-to-be, love the pattern and the story, and love the technique!
I have become faster to knit double knitting, and I make less mistakes - as long as I really concentrate!
Tried to listen to an audio book while knitting - this now works with the small patterns with a lot of repetition, but not with the 30 row pattern :)!

5 more days to wait for the next chapter!

Yeah, I become faster and make less mistakes!
Double Knitting is so much fun, and the pattern is just phantastic!!!!!
Finished in less than 2 days, and really did some ,more things than knit :)!

Meanwhile it already looks like a real scarf-to-be, and my furry companions love it as well!

Finished chapter 4 - still so much fun!!!!
Already half of the MKAL is over, half the scarf is finished ….I am so happy that Tania will make it a full-year journey with lots of more planned projects!

And I am very excited how the journey will go on - and how the scarf will go on, now that the neckline peak is reached!

Finally made up an avatar for my furry companion as well, and now up to Chapter 6!

This was already clue 7, one more clue and the scarf will be finished!

Couldn’t stop playing with monsters, so I decided to knit a matching headband, with the charts I like best.
90 stitches, a 3.5 mm circular ( with 4 mm circ it would have been 87 stitches, hard to distribute the patterns!), a bit of playing with the charts and 22 rows - finished!

It will be a wonderfully lng scarf to wrap around me for several times, I love it!

Finished the 8th chapter - so sad that this journey is already over, and so happy that there will be more journeys!

And optimistic - washed it and hoped it would dry ….
2 days later is was dripping wet for the 4th time, then I took it inside and let it dry there :)!
