I fell in love with this pattern at first sight and wanted to knit it from the first time I laid eyes on it. What better time to start than now as the Christmas knitting is done?
January 1st: middle of Chart B - I nearly forgot the pleasant feeling of knitting with handspun - it is a delight and I do love the Addi brass lace circs!
Feb. 13: on second side with the knitted on border. Takes time (at least for me) to remember the pattern.
Can’t wait to see how big this shawl is going to be when finally finished…. still love it.

The edging took me seemingly forever - done! This was my almost exclusive knitting project for two months. I wouldn’t have stuck with it if I fell out of love with it sometime in between ;)
The shawl will be huge when finally blocked.
I am thinking about where to put it when wet/damp and longingly thinking about the blocking frames in old pictures as to put it upright to dry out.

The finished shawl weighs 286 g.

Just did the math for the approximated yardage of my homespun, see above. Not too bad I think :)

Pictures will follow as soon as blocking is done.

March 30, 2010: had a blocking adventure this last weekend. I couldn’t block on the floor (not enough space). Found another solution outside: after framing the shawl in string I got it to dry upright - don’t ask me how. The finished shawl is about 2 x 2 meters, it is huge and a frothy cloud. I love it.
