This is a great pattern, fits well, stylish but still very masculine. Gabe wears it all the time. :)

The slowest going sweater ever. Poor guy, this was his winter solstice sweater for 2011. It’ll be done for next winter, I swear!

So far, the fit through the torso is good. He doesn’t like the collar, so I’m going to frog back, close it up 2 or 4 stitches and then make a shorter funnel neck. Sleeves next and then done. Been spit-splicing so only a few ends to weave in. I love this yarn, so soft and bulky and easy to work with. I will definitely buy this yarn again for my next bulky project.

Mods:

• I brought the funnel neck in two stitches on either side and then worked 2 sections of 2 short rows in the back of the neck so that it would rise a bit higher than the front. I finished it with 3 rows of garter stitch to match the cuffs.

• I worked the sleeves two-at-a-time and then sewed them onto the armholes with a single crochet chain

• I pulled out the 1x1 ribbing at the
  bottom and lengthened the sweater
  about 1.5 inches. I also added 2
  shortrows to make the back a bit
  longer per Gabe’s request. In the funny mail picture, you can see the shirt-tail hem. I finished it with 3 rows of garter stitch to match the cuff and collar.

• (I did have some trouble with pulling out the cast-on. You can see where the stitch pattern has been interrupted in the 4th picture. But Gabe doesn’t care, so I don’t either.)
