I’m just using one colour, although I may do the fancy cast off in leftovers of kidsilk spray, depending on how much yarn I have left.

Jan 2011 - this went wrong on the first few rows of the lacy border, so I shoved it in a cupboard and left it there for three years. As you do. But I’ve fished it out, pulled back the lace very carefully, and started again. But I’ve charted the border this time, there was no way I could do it from the written directions. And I’m using stitch markers every few repeats to check I’m on track - the lace pattern is very hard to read, especially as it’s in garter stitch. I’m doing a row every now and then, so it could still take a while…

March 2011 - the first border is done! I used a crochet cast off, it seemed easier than the one in the book.
