Final sizes:
Unblocked - 45” across or so.
Blocked - 60” across.
5/17/11 - Got the beads, just need to finish the socks and the mitts that I have on the sticks now and then I can start this!
5/24/11 - Started this over the weekend. Took me a few tries to start it. I tried the method linked in the pattern with no success. Same for the Ocker start. Finally ended up at Techknitter and used the Umbilical/Bellybutton technique, which prolly saved my sanity. Up to row 11 of section 6. Slow going right now due to ongoing distractions of Real Life(TM). :P
5/28/11 - And started stringing beads and knitting with them today. Still somewhat bemused that I’m still on my first skein of this yarn. ^^; I’m sure with all the YOs that it will get eaten up fast.
7/3/11 - Holy kittens. Finally done! Just got finished with the bind off which I swear looks funny. I think part of it is the yarn and needle size at the end though for me. It will hopefully clear up some with the blocking tomorrow.
7/4/11 - The shawl is sitting off blocking and will hopefully come up tomorrow nice. I couldn’t believe the difference between unblocked (looks like a hot mess) and pinned out (zomg, it actually looks like a shawl!)
7/5/11 - It came off the clocking mats perfectly and looks beautiful! Pleased with how it came out, but would love to do this again in a fingering weight yarn next time to give it some more body. Oh and actually try to not drop a stitch or two which I did with this one and vaguely fixed. ^^; One thing I do have to say: omg it’s so soft! Love, love, love the softness of this!
