05/08/10 - This is a “CONGRATULATIONS” present for my best friend Manna (Mandysdemons) for getting into University for Nursing! Since we are moving quite far from each other, and she is going somewhere a touch colder than she would enjoy … I thought something warm and “cozy” would be an appropriate gift!
05/09/10 - Frog # 1 … and you know what, I knew it was coming. I CO the number of stitches in the pattern, but I had a funny feeling that it was gonna be too big. She’s only 5’0”, and I’m considering dropping the number of CO stitches by 12-18. Will continue looking at other Rav member’s FO and see what I can learn. (We will also ignore the fact that the frog was more due to a few errors on my part, no matter how hard I tried to be perfect. Perhaps I’ll get it right on Try #2)
05/10/10 - Frogging and trying again with different needles was a good idea. Not to jinx myself, but it’s going MUCH better. I changed the needle size from 4.5 mm to 5.0 mm - definitely getting more of the effect I wanted. CO changed from 85 to 55, but when it’s blocked it’s going to be a good size for her. Will try to get a few inches on the needles, then take a picture ^_^
05/11/10 - Pictures have been taken for an update. Much progress has been made, but it does feel a bit slow going. Also, I’m worried about the width. Everything I read said that my gauge, with these needles, and this number of stitches would be perfect … and yet it seems a bit … short. Hopefully it will block out a few more inches, and I will be impressed.
05/24/10 - Cozy went with my on my recent vacation to NH/VT - Cozy was knit on in both states, in the Montreal train station and on the train towards Toronto. Much progress was made and the first ball has been completed! ^_^
06/22/10 - The Cozy made it’s trip with me to visit friends (who live just outside of Nashville, TN) … thankfully, all the problems I had knitting into this last week have gone! I was able to knit 15-ish repeats with no mistakes, and it was cast off this morning! Ends were weaved in and blocking will happen sometime this coming weekend (when I get home and don’t feel utterly exhausted from the bus travel).
