Notes

Yeeeaaaahhhh! I am feeling so good right now I just had to share with all you lovely knittahs out there! This is my first shawl. First lace. First Picot Insanity Bind-Off, and pretty much (honestly) my favorite thing I have made yet with the knits. I am so stoked to send this off to my friend, we set up a trade and this was my end of our bargain. I received some local handdyed sock yarn and a dozen luscious handmade goats milk soap bars from her and I hope she is just as thrilled with her shawl as I am with my sudz. :-D I learned so much making this shawl, from Judy’s Magic Cast On to M1’s to changing colors and lace to fucking endless picots and I loved every last little stitch that went into this beauty. The yarn is so light and soft and perfect for chilly evenings on the lanai. I totally ripped off the color combo from the original, thank goodness for Rav’s Yarn Trade feature because I was able to find 2 skeins of discontinued Clover for my stash. For those interested in creating a Cladonia with these same colors, I ordered a skein of Courbet’s Green to compare to Clover and it’s almost exactly the same color! Woot! The pattern is very well written and I loved that the lace portion is written and charted which was really handy for a newb like me.
