Notes

I think the yardage may have been highly exaggerated.

I really wish I’d browsed all the other projects before I started. The ones worked with a seed-stitch border instead of garter look fabulous! Oh well, I wouldn’t mind making one of these annually. Maybe next year I’ll even add cables! I’d also like to use woven ribbon to stitch to the border.

I think the ribbon tie closure looks much prettier than the metal clasp, too. My daughter has been wearing it for a week, and the ribbon comes undone quite often. I think next time I’ll use a button and loop or a frog closure.

I love the tassel, but the weight does drag the hood down and back a little. Sometimes I flip the edge of the hood back and it helps to stop it from sliding off, and looks really cute that way too!

I didn’t use the 3-needle bind-off, I just sewed it closed. Next time I’ll do it the right way, though, I think it will look much nicer.
