R1 chain 2, 4sc in 1st ch.

Made the lace portion, spray-blocked flat, then continued.

Used 4.5 mm hook for the reverse crochet as it was easier with the yarn held double.

I had a little trouble understanding the pattern at first, as it was written a little differently to what I’m used to, but it was easy enough once I got the hang of it. Had a little trouble working out where to place stitches using the chart, it was a little unclear, not sure if that’s a problem with the chart or just because I haven’t really used charts before.

The hat is quite loose, and I’m a tight crocheter. Luckily I have a big head, but people with smaller heads or who crochet loosely might find it slipping off!
