Finished: I managed to do the five repeats after the initial first one plus a final lace section of 6 repeats then bind off on a US 8 needle. I had about 7 inches left after finishing! It is blocking now and I am looking forward for it to dry so I can wear it.

October 2013: Now that I finished some other long in the planning projects I stared on this shawl :) :)

September 2013: I like long a-symmetrical shawls and especially Martina’s designs. I decided on this one rather than the hitchhiker, because I like the contrast between the open lace and stockinette stitch sections and I love the story behind the shawl. I still remember when the Berlin wall came down in 1989; it was such an awesome feeling! Does anyone else see some irony in knitting the brickless with a yarn named “volga”?!… perhaps without the bricks separating us, the Volga can freely flow into our hearts….
My good friend BobbiUnraveled just knitted me a yarn sack, so now I am doubly looking forward to start this project.

August 2013: I kept looking at this color yarn after we got a new shipment of MadTosh yarns in and finally bought it as my “yarn therapy”. It makes me happy every time I look at it. Now I just need to find the perfect shawl pattern to go with it.
