Decided to make this much bigger then pattern, using a 5 mm hook instead of 3.5 and increased width, will also increase length…need to buy more yarn for it!

On ball 4 of 13 and blanket is going to be very short. Will probably have to buy more yarn…it is going to work out to be a very expensive blanket! But as I said to my husband, I don’t mind as long as we have it for years and look after it.
The pattern is mainly single crochet (US) with double crochets for the shell stitch, this makes it quite thick fabric, I think it will be very warm but it uses a lot of yarn and time!

This is being picked up every now and then, It’s an easy mindless crochet so is usually brought when I’m in a waiting room or meet people. I have decided that is it going to be a baby blanket after all because I am on ball 10 of 13 and it is still small and would end up costing far too much if I was to make it into a full size blanket.

Finally Finished! The edging took so long! I didn’t do the edging in the pattern, I did one that I found in a book I have called ‘around the corner crochet borders’ that uses a 2 x 9 loop stitches.
Anyway it looks great and is finally finished! Going to block it and take pics this weekend hopefully!

I finally blocked this and I am really happy with how it tuned out. The texture of the stitch is unfortunately a bit flatter but I am glad I blocked as it looks great.
It’s so warm that I can see this being used for many cold winters!
