A really lovely design. While the pattern calls for Aran weight wool, I wanted to make it in double knit, so I chose a smaller hook, so it isn’t a pillow, just a soft toy. NB: If you are using DK for body, 4 ply might work better for the inner ears.

PROGRESS:
1. Started on head, working from nose. Completed head and ears 09.08.13.
Not done face yet. Prefer to do face at the end, when I get a feel for proportions and have sewn body parts together.
2. 16.08.13 I started the body, which is done in spiral rounds. Using a marker helps with this enormously. My thanks to Gypsyknits for advice with this stage.
Making good progress (though project has been on hold due to a number of family crises).

3. Will complete paws before tackling tail as need to get proportions correct, since I am using DK instead of Aran weight yarn.

4. Front Paws almost done. I have been busy with other more pressing issues…

5. Back Paws started 18.12.13

6. Tail: Used two 3” disk of card with holes cut through centre to make pom pom.

Important not to over-fill the body, feet and front paws, as I did initially! It’s also worth looking at the in-progress photos in the pattern instructions to see placement and shaping features.
