Ran short of yarn - only had 400 yards (360metres); I had to skip the last two rows, but even then ran out of yarn inches from the end of the cast off, and had to add in a few inches from another almost-matching yarn.
Note - the pattern really does need 440yds (400m) to do the full small size - and loose knitters should probably go down a needle size.
Blocked measurements: 52” wide by 26.5” high (132cm x 67cm)
Beading:
The pattern doesn’t give instructions for adding beads, because it wasn’t really designed for them, but this was my third shawl, and I couldn’t resist adding them! For those who’d like to add them, here’s some brief instructions:
Used crochet hook method to add beads.
Chart 2:
On rows 3, 11, & 19: Add a bead on to the K1 between the K2tog and ssk (ie at the beginning of each bud.)
On rows 5, 13 & 21: Add a bead on the 2 & 4 stitches of the k5 section. (ie on ether side of the bead in the previous row).
Chart 3:
On row 3: Add a bead on to the K1 between the K2tog and ssk (ie at the beginning of each bud.)
On row 5: Add a bead on the 2 & 4 stitches of the K5 section. (ie on ether side of the bead in the previous row).
On rows 7, 9, 11 & 13: Where there is a yo, K1, yo to form the columns, add a bead on the K1. Also add a bead to the centre K1!
And that picture without a shawl in it? Look closely - you’ll see the three little green frogs who were in the plant I wanted to drape the shawl over for photographs!
