This is a great hat! The bulky yarn knits up quickly and with all the cables, makes for a thick, warm hat.

The pattern does not include charts but the repeats are easy enough to remember. The bulky yarn and number of sts of the cables made cabling with out a cable needle impossible. Overall, this is a well written pattern and fun knit.

--Take note on the plain knit and purl rows. The number of rows is not the same throughout the pattern. I think it ended up a few rows shorter than written but it seems to have turned out fine, just not as slouchy as it probably should be.

--If I knit this again, I would make the brim a little longer. One inch just doesn’t seem like enough for such a heavy hat.
