Notes

FROGGED in 2019 - still loved the sweater but it no longer fit. I am knitting the yarn into another Mork in a different size :)

My final modification list:

  • Tapering the wide rib out on the lower body (as below)
  • 12 rows of 2x1 rib on the hem and cuffs
  • A handful of extra decreases near the side seams

Otherwise I knit to the 45” size all over the upper body and sleeves. This sweater has some clever finishing and I love the design :)

Also pleased with the yarn. It’s very soft, slightly fuzzy, and bloomed on blocking to really plump out the stitches. I’d happily use it again.

Pre-project notes:

Swatch before blocking: 19st / 27r per 4”
Swatch after blocking: 18.5st / 27r per 4”

I’ve been admiring this sweater for a long time, but had concerns about the ribbing around my lower torso. Finally realised I can just knit the top/sleeves with those beautiful ribbing/cable details and make the rest plain stockinette. I’m going to taper the transition in two diagonals: \/ on the back and /\ on the front (meeting at the sides). Also the standard pear shaping I always have to make.

My gauge is a bit off, but I don’t want to use smaller needles because this fabric feels great, so I’m going to make a smaller size to compensate. Maths is my friend!
