The Outsiders

I love this sweater! My first sweater! Love the pattern and would love to knit another one in gray, but will knit a smaller size.

I chose to knit the 42” size in the hopes of ending up with a 40” size, as my gauge was 6 stitches per inch. Before blocking I could tell that I had chosen the wrong size. It was too big. After blocking…well, the gorgeous, soft yarn GREW. The sweater was HUGE. After getting some advice, I put it in the dryer for a total of 6 minutes, and it shrunk to a wearable size, about a 38”. WHEW! Very happy with the results!

The yarn color is best shown in the first picture.

Update 2015: Well, after going back and forth and back again, I decided to frog. I lost 20 lbs., and the sweater is too big. The next time I knit this beautiful pattern I will use a different yarn and knit a smaller size.
