I was thrilled in late 2013, to learn that my “Paper Lanterns” design was selected as the BMFA (Blue Moon Fiber Arts) RSC (Rockin’ Sock Club) non-sock pattern for January 2014!
This makes me one of their very first “open call” designers.

I made the design sample shawlette that appears in all of the BMFA pattern photography. I decided to become a member of the 2014 RSC so that I could get my hands on some of that pretty yarn to make one of my very own. Wouldn’t you know, I was also gifted with a skein from BMFA. (Actually, to this day, I can only assume that it was a gift from them -- and not some kind of shipping mistake duplication -- as there was no note or card.)

Later in 2014:
With two skeins of a yarn in a colorway called “Lucky 7”, and using size 7 needles, I will be making two of these in the year 2014. My younger sister, who shares having a July (month 07) birthday, will be getting the first.

December 2014: I gifted my sister with my second Paper Lanterns for Christmas.

March 2015: I have finished knitting, and am about to block, my second Paper Lanterns (which is really my third counting the first sample which is owned by BMFA). This one will be mine to keep.
