Notes

My first “non-practice” socks and my first heel flap experience. Lovin’ the ruffle!!

8/24/11 - I put them on her little feet with her favorite pink shoes and she is in heaven. Lil One did a great job modeling, and Daddy was a trooper helping!

I liked the pattern, although it assumes you know what you’re doing a bit more than most. No abbreviation lists, less than specific language at some points, etc. I had no trouble following it, but plan on checking with a fellow knitter if you are a newer knitter.

I found the yarn knit up quite firm, and therefore I feel like the fit window will be narrow because it is not as flexible as I’d expected. I think if I used this yarn with this pattern again, I’d go up to a US 1 and just make a slightly bigger sock. She’ll grow. Anyone who’s wondering, she takes a toddler size 7-8 shoe and they fit fine, but really no room to grow.

XOXO to my Stitch ‘n’ Bitch pals - they gave me great tips on handling the gusset so even though they are my first heel flap, I didn’t end up with any holes or awkwardness. You guys are awesome!
