Notes

I came across this pattern in my grandmother’s stash of old knitting magazines and pamphlets. This particular Lux book belonged to her mother (my great-grandmother), who knitted up these Lux baby clothes patterns during WWII for children overseas. I don’t know if she every made these socks, as there are no annotations on her pattern.

When I first saw this pattern, I knew instantly that these socks had to be styled after the Tenth Doctor’s suit.

Modifications: Rather than knitting the first stitch of every heel row, I slipped the stitch instead in order to make it easier to pick up at the heel turn.
