I knitted this BSJ for a lady that works in my husbands store and is due in August. The shower is mid June, so I knitted every spare minute to get it done. She knows that she is having a girl, hence the pink!
I just need to take it to find the perfect buttons and then it can be wrapped. I’m not going to block it because it really doesn’t need it.
Size F crochet hook used for picot edging.
Size 7 knitting needles used for sleeve ribbing.
a. I slipped the first stitch of every row and purled the last stitch, until I finished the sleeves.
b. I added an eyelet row on row 20 and then ran an i-cord through it.
c. I added length to the sleeves by picking up 28 stitches and knitting 1.5” wide 2x2 ribbing at sleeve ends before seaming.
d. I added a crochet picot edge to the sleeves, neckline and sweater front and back to add detail.
e. Only made 4 button holes.
f. I worked an applied i-cord for the bind off all around using size 6 knitting needles.
Not sure I really liked it as it was more trouble and you really can’t tell it’s an i-cord. However, it does give a nice finished edge. Next time I would double the yarn and go up a needle size to make the i-cord more pronounced.
