Pattern BEGINNER’S CHOICE from:
TATTED BOOKMARKS NEEDLE & SHUTTLE

Took me a couple of days to get into the first bookmark, using size 10 thread, but by the time I got to the second one, I did it in one day. Starched and laying on a towel, ready to mail Monday with a birthday card. Tassel tails made, will put pic tomorrow before mailing.

I wrap the thread around a dvd case longwise and end on the same end the beginning thread starts wrapping, then cut the remaining threads at that same end. I only use 5, and there are a few leftover, but this gives me a good choice of colors with variegated thread. I save the leftover pieces for another bookmark. Third picture: Be sure you insert the thread from front to back, so you get that nice loop closure on the front. I used a 00 crochet hook to pull it thru, then bring the long tail thru the ‘noose’ and tighten, holding the tatting firm, so you don’t pull on the tatting itself.
