Such a lovely quirky hat, I had to knit it immediately! It’s actually taken me a couple of nights to knit, reluctantly enduring the Champions’ League at the same time

Still, my lack of interest in football has meant that I’ve managed to not make any mistakes! My gauge is spot on, but I think the smallest size is a little roomy on me - I think perhaps I’ll use a 3mm needle for the body next time. Mods: I’ve not knitted the bobbles and I’ve started the crown decreases right after finishing the stranded section.

I’m not sure who the girl is in the pattern: Little My from the Moomins? it did remind me of her. But it also very much reminded me of Frida Kahlo… and so I added an adjustment to the eyebrow area just to make it a little bit more HER. I am a huge fan of Frida, her work and also her character (as much as I can tell from reading about her). I think the colours she would use for this hat would be much more startling though… primary colours come to mind… or perhaps cerise and cerulean blue!
