I have major alterations for this sweater all planned out. I need to add length and thumbholes to the arms like I did on the first Licorice Whip I made for my daughter, I am going to make a longer shirt tail back much like a cycling jersey, as well as some set in pockets and possibly a hood if I have enough yarn.
I need the perfect sweater to grab and go in the mornings when riding my bike with the kids to school. It’s chilly but not cold so I want something that will cover my back/butt without being too long. I also want to be able to throw my cell phone, chapstick, and possibly thin gloves in the pockets without having to worry about them falling out.
The yarn doesn’t match gauge; I am getting 17sts/4” and the pattern calls for 14sts/4” so I chose the 36” instead of the 34” that I normally wear.
THe yarn did shrink up a bit after a soak & quick toss in a cool dryer. That was actually a good thing since it ended up too large for me.
I haven’t quite figured out how I want to do pockets, I am thinking fingering weight cashmere pouch along the inside of the back with an opening at one side.
And don’t you just love photos with fold lines & goofy faces? I look like I have a fat lip in that bottom picture! ;o)
Oh & the always attractive sports bra, squished look. That’s nice too.
Oh & the bottom 2 photos show the shirttail type line I did to make the back longer than the front. I basically used EZ’s neck back method across half of the stitches. It can be found in any of her in the round sweater pattern directions.
