My daughter served in the United States Marines; her husband is in the USMC, and so of course I made a theme blanket for my first grandchild: desert camo, the stripes are the same colors as the chevrons on a dress uniform, and the boot prints are like you will find at Parris Island, when the new recruits step off the bus, they step into yellow bootprints on the pavement.

My 83 year old mother crocheted the “bootprints;” they are essentially just crocheted ovals which were then sewed onto the blanket once the blanket was completed.
