Ancient discontinued pure wool yarn. Its quite scratchy, but will, I think, felt perfectly.

Felted really well, if slightly unevenly. Going to spend some time later today finishing off with a bit of handfelting so I can concentrate on the areas which haven’t done so well. Normally I would simply stick it through another 40 degree wash, but I like this pattern so much I want them to work. So I am taking fewer chances this time. The colour looks beautiful when felted.

Here they are after felting - they need some trimming with scissors, some work with steam, and some gorgeous buttons.

All done - too big. Gutted. Will pay more attention to tension next time….
